Ewa Manikowska (dr habil) – Associate Professor at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. Her research interests focus on the history of collecting, survey photography, cultural heritage, and art restitution. She is an author of the book Photography and Cultural Heritage in the Age of Nationalisms. Europe’s Eastern Borderlands (1867–1945) (Bloomsbury 2019).
Research team:
Kamila Kludkiewicz (PhD) – Assistant Professor at the Institute of Art History, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Her research interests focus on the history of European collecting, art and material culture of the long 19th century. She is an author of a book on 19th-century private aristocratic collecting in the region of Greater Poland, Wybór i konieczność. Kolekcje polskiej arystokracji w Wielkopolsce na przełomie XIX i XX wieku (Poznań 2016).
Wojciech Walanus (PhD) – Director of the Photo-Library of the Institute of Art History, Jagiellonian University. Principal Investigator of a digitisation and research project on the holdings of this collection. His research interests focus on late-gothic sculpture in Central Europe, history of photography and photographic archives.
Marzena Woźny (PhD) Director of the Archive of the Archaeological Museum in Cracow. Her research interests focus on the history of archaeology, in particular on 19th-century Galicia. She is the author of an extended interview with professor Jan Machnik and the book on the Polish prehistorian Włodzimierz Demetrykiewicz, Włodzimierz Demetrykiewicz (1859–1937). Aleksandra Fedorowicz-Jackowska – PhD candidate at the Institute of Art of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Her research focuses on 19th-century photographically illustrated publications. She is responsible for this website design and management.
